The Story of Gottipalam

Gottipalam is a sleepy little village in Andhra Pradesh, with a perennial water crisis. The nearest bore well is 12 kms away. The gram panchayat gets water through tankers, but unfortunately the tankers can’t enter the village — the villagers have to walk through dry, rocky land to get to the tankers quite some distance away.
But things have changed, recently.
Electrosteel has gifted large rolling water buckets — also called “hippo rollers” — to the village. These have a simple design, and can be easily rolled on the ground instead of heavy water pots being carried on the head.
Here is Shajila and Nurinisa with their brand new rolling water buckets, accompanied by very happy Electrosteel-ians.
Someday, soon, we hope Electrosteel Ductile Iron pipes will bring pure drinking water right up to their village.
