As the pioneer of introducing Ductile Iron Pipes in India, the Electrosteel Group has established itself as an international brand that values commitment to excellence. With five decades of experience, Electrosteel Castings has been fulfilling its vision of ‘Carrying life to people, safe drinking water for all.’ Being the country’s leading pipeline solutions provider, Electrosteel has been providing clean drinking water to millions — a promise of quality that has led it to achieve international benchmarks and recognition worldwide as a global leader that understands the priorities of the customer across 35 countries.
What started off as Electrosteel Castings, a Steel Castings and Cast Iron Spun Pipe manufacturing company, evolved in time into a pioneer in manufacturing Ductile Iron Pipes and Fittings. Presently, over 60% of its products are exported around the world and Electrosteel has its subsidiaries in 11 countries.
The Group is committed to continuous development, delivering superior product quality and timely delivery; this is a direct result of a philosophy that is the bedrock of Electrosteel — TPM (Total Productivity Management). Adherence to TPM and the company’s resultant success has been possible only because of its most important and essential asset — its employees, both in India and abroad.
To meet the ever growing demand of its quality products and with Electrosteel acquired 46% stake in Lanco Industries Limited in March 2002, which is involved in manufacturing of DI Pipes, Pig Iron, Cement and Castings.
With respect to strengthening India’s own infrastructure, Electrosteel ventured into the Steel Manufacturing industry through its promoted Company — Electrosteel Steels Limited. An Integrated Steel Plant has been set up which is capable of producing 2.5 Million metric tonnes of Hot Metal, which is further processed into Pig Iron, Billets, TMT Bars, Wire Rods and Ductile Iron Pipes.
It is this entrepreneurial zeal within Electrosteel that has paved the way for the establishment of the first integrated green field steel project in Eastern India in the last 5 decades. The Plant is situated in Bokaro, Jharkhand, a strategic location with proximity to raw materials such as Coal and Iron Ore. The Captive Coking Coal mine is located in Parbatpur and the Iron Ore mine is located at Dirsumburu, both in Jharkhand.
All these factors are key in extending the legacy of Electrosteel — to be recognized as a quality conscious manufacturer dedicated towards serving the country and participating in the process of nation building.
