Electrosteel published an Energy Policy way back in the year 2004, much before the words ‘Energy Savings’ gained popularity in the mainstream. The Energy Conservation Act had been passed by the Government of India just a few years earlier (in 2001) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) had just been formed. An Energy Conservation Cell was created soon afterwards, at Electrosteel. Focused and planned initiatives over the following years produced very encouraging results. The recent ISO 50001 British Standards Institution certification (BSI; the national standards body of the United Kingdom) –officially, the Certificate of Registration for Energy Management System ISO 50001:2011 (with UKAS accreditation) — for Electrosteel Castings Ltd (Khardah & Bansberia Works) is a feather in our cap. The world knows us for pioneering DI pipes in India. But we’ve done much more, to make the world a better place to live in. And there’s much more to be done, with your support. #technologythatcares #energy #EnergyConservationAct #BritishStandardsInstitution
