Do you remember the Latur Earthquake?
On September 30, 1993, the severe earthquake that shook the Latur area in Maharashtra killed 9,782 people and caused damage totalling Rs 10 billion.
The deadly earthquake also destroyed the already fragile water supply pipe network of the region.
A new pipe network had to be built, one that would survive many future earthquakes.
Ductile Iron pipe with its rugged structure and flexible joints was an automatic choice.
Electrosteel supplied the DI pipes, as pioneers, we were the only manufacturer in India at that time.
Such massive reconstruction work was undertaken for the first time in independent India.
#Electrosteel is happy to have played a small part in building the new Maharashtra, with #technologythatcares
